Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide for the spiritual and physical needs of the
orphaned and street children in Uganda by building
Christian academies.
It is the purpose of Seeds of HOPE International to see lives touched and
hearts changed for the glory of Jesus Christ. "Those
who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out
weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying
sheaves with him." Psalms 126:5,6
Our Goals
-
To provide homeless, orphaned and street children
in Uganda with a loving environment and a
nurturing place to call home. These children
will be prepared for life in their community as valuable,
contributing members who demonstrate strong Christian values. They
will live in a Christian academy.
-
To build Christian academies for the purpose of housing these children.
Our Values
Seeds of HOPE International is founded and based on the
authority of Biblical Scripture. We are an organization of Christians who
believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and are dedicated to serving God,
family, church, and community.

Statement of Faith
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired infallible authoritative
Word of God.
- We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His sinless life, His
miracles, His death through His shed blood for the remission of
sin, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of
the Father and His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe in His present rule as Head of the Church
- We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely
essential for the salvation of the lost and sinful man.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling in the
Christian enables them to live a godly life.
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost
– they that are saved are resurrected unto life and they that
are lost are resurrected unto damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus
Christ, with equality across racial, gender and class differences.

About
the Founder
Juliet Lorraine Ofwono was born in Uganda, East Africa, attended
kindergarten in Bonn, West Germany, elementary boarding school for girls
in Essex, England, UK and school in Kampala, Uganda. Juliet attended high school and college in California.
Fled Uganda in 1976 with three of her siblings to Kenya where her mother and
remaining sibling joined her 3 days later. Immigrated to the USA in September
1976 with the assistance of the American Embassy in Kenya. Her father, a civil
servant, and former Ugandan ambassador to Egypt fled to Kenya from Uganda
during the turbulent rein of Idi Amin.
Juliet began her dedicated life with Christ in 1989. Prior to founding Seeds
of HOPE International in 2001, Juliet spent several years as a volunteer with
City Team Ministries working with children. She also taught Sunday school for
eight years at Victorious Life Christian Center in California. Using puppets
which she created, Juliet also performed puppet shows to further interest
children in the gospel of Christ.
Juliet has returned to Africa, Uganda and Tanzania several times over the past
years, and has noted the growing crises among the children. Juliet is
committed to making a difference for the Kingdom of God by working to help
children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic, war, and poverty. Juliet's desire is
“To plant seeds of hope into the hearts of orphans and street children by
giving them a promising future." We will do this by building Christian
academies.
A Christian academy is, in
our view, a special kind of "orphanage" which is really a school and
home where "street children" and orphans are cared for and taught
Christian living and also how to "make a living" in this world
without compromising one's beliefs.
